Twisted Dreams is a creative collaboration between Helen Day and Ryan Laight, who between them have over forty years experience of performance, theatre and theatre design.
As a street theatre maker, she worked for ten years with her company Dodgy Totty, producing innovative, outdoor comedic theatre, as well as work for the avant garde cabaret scene.
As a performer, recent work has included ‘Fuzzbox’ for BBC3, ‘In the Night Garden Live’ for Minor Entertainment/BBC Worldwide/Ragdoll, ‘Little Red Hen’ for Stuff and Nonsense Theatre Company, and ‘Like a Fish Out of Water’ for the Seven Sisters Group with the English National Ballet.
Helen also runs the agency H2oh! Entertainment, supplying circus, variety, dance and music acts to the corporate and private events market.
Ryan is a Production Designer and Artistic Director working in theatre. His most recent work includes set and costume design for ‘Henry V’ at Oxford Castle (Creation Theatre Company), set design for Le Gateau Chocolat at the Menier Chocolate Factory, and set and costume design for Drew McOnie’s ‘Good Morning Midnight’ at the Jermyn Street Theatre.
He also designed ‘Chess’ at the Union Theatre and ‘Dear Edwina’ at the Lost Theatre. Ryan has worked with artist Rachel Gadsden several times, designing ‘Alive’ for her, with dance company Deaf Men Dancing, in 2009, taking the role of Artistic Director for ‘Starting Line’ in 2012, and most recently ‘Cube of Curiosity’ in summer 2013.
He is currently designing Sasha Reagan’s all male ‘HMS Pinafore’ at the Union Theatre and the world premier of BLACK for the Homotopia festival in Liverpool.
